| These rules are not mandatory, however they exist to help guide on to keeping with the forum's methods of posting in roleplaying, and are here to help you keep track of various things to improve the story telling experience and to help prevent " cheating" so that roleplaying may remain fair to all its participants. Please note once again that these points are not extremely mandatory, however it's recommended to follow to make everything easier for both yourself, and other roleplayers. Making a post
- .1 If you are the starter of a roleplaying topic, be ensure that your initial post includes a date following the current format of [Day, Month, Year). For example:
(12th April, 2014)
Please take note of the "Current In-Character Year" which dictates what year it is currently at Mage Academy. The stories at Mage Academy starts at the year "2014", therefore no post mean to be the "present" may be dated back by then. Posts are only allowed to be dated before the "Current In-Character Year" if they are fan fictions, historical recollections, flashback roleplays, etc.
- .3 When a character speaks he or she should have their words highlighted by a color, necessarily a bright one to make things easier for members to reach. The only exception are white, which is the default text color and is used for general actions and story narration, and the color black which is the background of the entire site, and thus would be invisible to the eyes.
- .4 Please avoid making short posts, as these are usually mildly annoyances to see a writer's potential being lightly used. You should have at least two paragraphs worth of narration and dialogue combined to contribute to the story. Dialogue isn't necessarily mandatory, but they improve interaction amount people others. If you need some time to think, be sure to inform the other members via private messaging, or the chatbox at the side, or any other means you see fit.
When typing dialogue, be sure to use double quotation marks from start to finish of their speech. For thoughts of a character, be sure to use single quotations, ending and closing, as well as them being bordered by italics to help identify them easier (However italics can be used to 'stretch' words to put emphasis on them in terms of length.) NOTE: You should take your time and dedicate yourself to actually crafting a post with enough codes and visuals. Yes, "crafting" would be the word here, as posting here tends to be very verbose and of good quality to tell a story. Be sure to make a plan that's relevant to a user's expectation and consider their characters as well as your character again. Be sure to add anything in, but be sure to keep your reactions to what would be logical, realistic, or even borderline lucky.
- .5 Be sure not to control a member's actions directly, or introduce any new major elements to a roleplaying topic without informing the thread creator, or if it's something that is to affect the world or the academy with a major change, be sure to seek approval of staff members, specifically the administrators. If you need any clarifications of the lore of the world, be sure to contact the current head administrator.
